A Year Of Good News

Special New Year’s greetings from the Mississippi Gulf Coast! We have experienced God’s love in so many ways throughout Wesley’s challenging journey with his health throughout 2016. We can testify of the Lord’s goodness in 2017 and we are hopeful for his complete recovery.

Wesley started radiation treatment and should complete it by the end of January. We have focused on the faithfulness of God and our HOPE remains in Him. We have been hosted by a remarkable family, the Dillons. Dr. Alva Dillon and his wife Diane have poured out God’s love to us and helped us through so much. We will be forever grateful to God for their friendship and love. We are also grateful to each of you for your prayers, cards, calls and sacrificial gifts. We have truly seen the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living.

The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. Lamentations 3:25

Our absence from the children back home in Uganda has weighed heavily on our hearts but the good news is four of our children (Phionah, Sophie, Alex and Godfrey) have done an excellent job managing the various projects and caring for the children. Godfrey graduated from the university with honors in October. Two of our boys, Dr. Edward Kankaka, was awarded a fellowship from John Hopkins University and is working on his Masters degree in Public Health, as well as, working on a research project for the Mayo Clinic. Innocent Ndibatya is pursuing his Ph.D. in engineering in South Africa.
