The Aunt Elvi Mikkola Primary School is a school located in southwestern Uganda in a town called Rukungiri. The school has an enrollment of over 300 children. The school reaches out to the poorest of the poor to attend primary school. Many children walk long distances from the villages to come to this school. The school relies totally on the gifts of others to keep it operational. The school is very unique; the joy of the children just thrills your heart.
Without education, children are at greater risk for exploitation, early marriage, and lower income-earning potential. Education gives children the opportunity to become adults who earn better wages, raise healthier, educated children of their own, and have a voice in their community. The Lord has called Windows of Hope to partner with Aunt Elvi’s founders to address its many needs. Thanks to the generous contributions of many, the school has come a long way, but we still have a way to go.
A school library plays a vital role in the life of a student. The goal of Aunt Elvi Mikoola Primary School’s library, the Fannie Rountree-Holloway Library, is to be a store house of knowledge, exhibiting positive impact on the academic achievement of the student.
The work of Windows of Hope continues. With your support, we have experienced wonderful progress at Aunt Elvi through the years. Our goal this year is to raise $3,000 to stock the library with books for students from grades 1-7, as well as, reading books for the nursery children. Can we count on your financial support?
Poverty creates extreme despair, meager salaries, squalid housing, hunger and disease that cripples the lives of its citizens. For over 10 years, Windows of Hope has worked tirelessly to help eradicate the poor conditions that plague many of Uganda’s poor. Will you join us in our effort by supporting our campaign to
provide lunch, for an entire year, for Aunt Elvi’s 300 students?
For just $30, you can feed a student for an entire year! Our goal is to ensure that all 300 students at Aunt Elvi are guaranteed a lunch every year. Please help Windows of Hope continue the fight of removing the conditions debilitating Ugandans by sending your contribution to our Lunch Drive today!
