The WOH Family

We need you.

Having someone to love is family

It’s been said that, “Having somewhere to go is home. Having someone to love is family. Having both is a blessing.” WOH, having spent more than a decade in Uganda after seeing the despair, hopelessness, and poverty in the lives of children due to extreme poverty, HIV/AIDS, and wars, committed themselves to helping improve the quality of life of Uganda’s children. They opened their hearts and home in Masaka to provide needy children (who they foster) with food, clothing, shelter, health, educational and spiritual support in a loving and supportive family environment.

Paving a road to success

Through the ministry of WOH, many who never had any picture of what their future would hold, have grown into responsible men and women. With over 20 university and vocational school graduates, we have been blessed to see our children become doctors, engineers, social workers, and business people and also be involved in the expansion of the love of God through our work as a ministry. By God’s grace, WOH has greatly improved the quality of life for over 1,000 children.

Transportation Need

We believe that children grow up best in families. Our children range from ages 6-21 and are in educational programs from kindergarten to the university level. We strive to help each child reach their potential in life. Our goal is for each child to have the experience of living in a loving and caring family and to equip them with Christian morals, values and skills that will enable them to be productive members of society and to be positive influences in Ugandan society. Daily operation of our home is very high but we value the life of each child and try to provide them with the best.

The home was designed for young men in our family, who have just completed their secondary school education or institutions of higher learning to help them make the transition to independent living. They continue to experience the love of God, the blessing of family and acquire practical skills (shopping, food preparation, budgeting, bill paying, etc.) for daily living. Eight to ten young men live in the home for three to four years. You can help by making a donation to operate the homes.

The ministry of Windows of Hope takes us to many places in Uganda, such as, Ssese Island in Kalangala, St. Elven in Rukungiri and all over Masaka District. As you can imagine, reliable transportation is critical in doing the work of the Lord. We are now in need of a replacement for our 24 year old car. In recent years, the car is in the garage every week with one thing or the other. We do need a car for our ministry, one that will keep the Fordes safe on the roads, as we covers over 27,000 kilometers (16,775) every year! An updated model to the current model used is $20,000. We know we serve a big God and He will meet our every need as promised.

How To Contribute?

Meet Critical Needs

You can help us meet a variety of urgent and unmet needs by donating to Windows of Hope. Whether its helping us with our need for transportation, the building of a dining hall at the Kalaya Women’s Vocational Center or the many challenges that are faced by children in poverty, “whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done.” Proverbs 19:17

Become A Monthly Donor

You can help to ensure the effective, efficient flow of support and aid in Uganda by becoming a monthly donor of Windows of Hope. A small gift each month helps Windows of Hope spend more money on helping poverty stricken communities, strengthening families and local schools. Your donation is used wisely to help children in Uganda, one of the hardest places to be a child.

Sponsor A Child

Sponsoring a child is the best way to provide children a strong opportunity to overcome poverty and show God’s love to a child in need. When you sponsor a child, you help provide essentials like nutrition, education, and spiritual development. Sponsoring a child can cost as little as $35 a month. We also provide individuals with the opportunity to sponsor a child together, sharing in the costs and rewards.

Shop Our Online Gift Shop

Windows of Hope’s Online Gift Shop gives gifts that make an impact for children in poverty. Gifts can go directly to your sponsored child. You can place an oder for Christmas gifts. Or, give to meet the highest needs of any child or family. We will make sure that your gifts through our online store go to the children and families who need the most.
